The 190th batch of the Catch Them Young (CTY) programme was successfully conducted on 15 July 2026 at Swami Ramakrishnananda Hall, Vivekananda Cultural Centre (VCC). The workshop welcomed 54 second-year B.Com. (Finance & Taxation) students from M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women for a meaningful day of learning, reflection, and personality development rooted in the timeless teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by an introduction to the vision and activities of Vivekananda Cultural Centre and Vivekananda Illam. Students were acquainted with the Centre's mission of nurturing responsible, confident, and value-oriented youth through educational, cultural, and character-building initiatives.
The first session, "Constructive Personality through the Teachings of Swami Vivekananda," was delivered by Smt. Ranjana. Through inspiring examples from Swami Vivekananda's life, she explained how qualities such as positive thinking, discipline, self-confidence, perseverance, and compassion form the foundation of a strong personality. She encouraged the students to develop these values in their everyday lives and to face challenges with courage and optimism.
The second session was led by the Director, Swamiji, who captivated the students with an insightful discourse on the nature and power of the human mind. He explained how our thoughts shape our attitudes, actions, and ultimately our destiny. Drawing from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Swamiji shared practical methods to cultivate concentration, emotional balance, and inner strength. He inspired the students to discover their true potential, remain steadfast in their goals, and lead lives guided by character, purpose, and service.
The interactive nature of the sessions encouraged enthusiastic participation, thoughtful discussions, and sincere introspection among the students. Many expressed that the workshop had strengthened their confidence and motivated them to adopt a more positive outlook towards their studies and personal growth.
The participants also visited the Experience Vivekananda Museum, where they explored immersive exhibits portraying the life, ideals, and universal message of Swami Vivekananda. The visit deepened their appreciation of his vision and reinforced the relevance of his teachings in today's world.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates, books, and photographs of Swami Vivekananda as tokens of encouragement. Tea and biscuits were served during the break, followed by refreshments at the end of the programme. The students assembled for a group photograph near the statue of Swami Vivekananda, bringing to a close another enriching and memorable edition of the Catch Them Young programme.
