- The 189th Catch Them Young (CTY) Workshop was successfully conducted on Friday, 10 July 2026, at Swami Ramakrishnananda Hall, Vivekananda Cultural Centre (VCC). The programme welcomed 54 second-year B.Com. (Finance & Taxation) students from M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women for a day dedicated to personality development, self-discovery, and value-based learning inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
- The programme commenced with a prayer, creating a serene and uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by an orientation introducing the students to the vision, mission, and various service activities of Vivekananda Cultural Centre and Vivekananda Illam. The session highlighted the institutions' commitment to empowering young minds through character building, leadership development, and value-based education.
- The keynote session was delivered by Smt. Krishnaveni, who captivated the students with an inspiring and interactive talk based on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. She explained several of his inspiring quotations and demonstrated how these timeless principles can be practically applied in everyday life. Through relatable examples and real-life situations, she encouraged the students to cultivate self-confidence, discipline, positive thinking, and a clear sense of purpose. The session also included a brief guided meditation, helping the participants understand the importance of concentration, inner calm, and mental focus in achieving success.
- The students participated enthusiastically throughout the workshop, actively engaging in discussions and reflecting on the ideas shared. Many expressed that the programme motivated them to introspect, strengthen their self-belief, and approach both their academic pursuits and personal lives with renewed confidence and determination.
- The learning experience was further enriched by a guided visit to the Experience Vivekananda Museum, where the participants explored immersive exhibits depicting the life, message, and enduring legacy of Swami Vivekananda. The visit offered a deeper understanding of his vision and its continuing relevance in shaping today's youth.
- The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates, books, and photographs of Swami Vivekananda as tokens of inspiration. Tea and biscuits were served during the break, followed by refreshments at the end of the programme. The students also gathered for a group photograph near the statue of Swami Vivekananda, marking the successful completion of yet another memorable and inspiring Catch Them Young workshop.
