The 173rd Catch Them Young Workshop on Friday, 07 January 2026, was conducted at Swami Ramakrishnananda Hall at VCC Campus welcoming 70 II Year B.Com students from Guru Nanak College, Velachery, for a day of inspiration, reflection, and experiential learning.
The day commenced with a calm and elevating invocation, setting the tone for focused learning. This was followed by an orientation session that introduced the students to the vision, legacy, and ongoing initiatives of the Vivekananda Cultural Centre and Vivekananda Illam. The session highlighted the institutions’ commitment to character building, leadership development, and the nurturing of national values among youth.
The central highlight of the programme was the powerful and inspiring talk by Director Swamiji on “You Are the Creator of Your Own Destiny.” Through practical insights, relatable life examples, and interactive discussions, Swamiji emphasized the immense potential of the human mind. He underscored the importance of self-discipline, mental awareness, positive thinking, and emotional strength, encouraging students to take conscious responsibility for shaping their own future.
Students actively participated throughout the session, openly sharing their thoughts and reflections. Many expressed that the workshop triggered deep self-introspection and instilled a renewed sense of confidence, purpose, and determination in both their academic pursuits and personal lives.
Enhancing the learning experience further, the participants were taken on a guided tour of the Experience Vivekananda Museum. Through immersive and engaging exhibits, students explored the life, ideals, and timeless teachings of Swami Vivekananda, gaining insights into how his message remains deeply relevant to contemporary society and youth leadership.
The workshop concluded on a warm and joyful note with the distribution of certificates, books, and photographs of Swami Vivekananda, followed by refreshments. A group photograph near the statue of Swami Vivekananda beautifully captured the spirit of the day, marking the successful completion of a truly enriching and memorable journey of learning.
