The 177th Catch Them Young Workshop was successfully conducted on Friday, 30 January 2026, at Swami Ramakrishnananda Hall, located within the Vivekananda Cultural Centre (VCC) Campus. The programme welcomed 73 undergraduate students from Guru Nanak College, Velachery, pursuing B.Com and B.Sc, and offered them a day filled with reflection, inspiration, and experiential learning.
The workshop began with a serene invocation, creating a calm and receptive atmosphere. This was followed by an orientation session that familiarised the students with the vision, heritage, and diverse initiatives of the Vivekananda Cultural Centre and Vivekananda Illam, helping them understand the institution’s role in value-based education.
A major highlight of the programme was an inspiring and thought-provoking session by Smt. Nithya Rajsundaran on “Swami Vivekananda’s Vision for Youth.” She eloquently emphasised the significance of discipline, self-belief, and ethical living in character formation, while demonstrating the continuing relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals in contemporary life. Her engaging delivery—rich with anecdotes, relatable examples, and an interactive question-and-answer segment—kept the students attentive and deeply motivated.
The workshop encouraged active participation, with students openly sharing reflections and insights drawn from the sessions. Many expressed that the programme prompted meaningful self-introspection and instilled greater clarity, confidence, and motivation to pursue their academic and personal aspirations with a sense of purpose.
The learning experience was further enriched by a guided visit to the Experience Vivekananda Museum, where students explored immersive exhibits portraying the life, ideals, and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The visit offered profound insights into the timeless nature of his message, particularly in nurturing responsible, value-oriented youth leadership.
The programme concluded on a joyful and fulfilling note with the distribution of certificates, books, and portraits of Swami Vivekananda, followed by refreshments. A group photograph near the statue of Swami Vivekananda captured the collective enthusiasm and happiness of the participants, marking the successful completion of a truly enriching and memorable workshop.
