Kolam workshop 10th Batch

The 10th batch of the Kolam Workshop commenced on 5th April 2026 with a serene and traditional inauguration. The session began with prayers, flower offerings setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the day.
The workshop was led by Smt. Kamalavathy, a renowned Kolam artist, who in her introductory address beautifully explained the relevance of this ancient art in today’s fast-paced world. She highlighted the threefold benefits of practicing Kolam—enhancing creativity, cultivating discipline, and fostering inner peace—making it not just an art form but a meaningful daily practice.
A total of 12 participants took part with great enthusiasm. The full-day workshop, held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offered comprehensive training across a wide range of Kolam styles, including Single Stroke, Double Stroke, Line Kolams, Padi Kolams, Sikku Kolams, Freehand Kolams, Puja Room Kolams, and Big Kolams. Participants actively engaged in learning and practicing each style, gaining both skill and confidence.
In his benedictory message, Director Swamiji emphasized the importance of preserving traditions and spoke about their deep connection to one’s spiritual growth. He encouraged participants to continue practicing and passing on this sacred art to future generations.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants. They shared their heartfelt feedback, expressing gratitude to the Vivekananda Cultural Centre and the instructor for the enriching experience. Many also showed keen interest in enrolling for advanced-level workshops and participating in future cultural programs.
The success of the workshop was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the instructor, along with the support of volunteers and staff. Lunch prasad, along with tea and snacks, was served to all participants, ensuring a fulfilling and joyful experience throughout the day

The 3rd batch of the One Stroke Painting course concluded successfully with its valedictory function held on 4th April 2026. The batch commenced on 20th December 2025 and continued till 28th March 2026, with sessions conducted every weekend.
The program was guided by Smt. Valli Solai S, and had a total of 6 participants who enthusiastically took part in the learning journey. During the valedictory, Smt. Valli Solai shared her heartfelt experience of conducting the sessions. She appreciated the dedication and creativity of the participants, highlighting how each student gradually developed confidence and skill in this beautiful art form. She also expressed her joy in seeing the unique styles and expressions that the students brought into their work.
The participants too shared their experiences, expressing their happiness and satisfaction in learning One Stroke Painting. They spoke about how the classes were engaging and inspiring, and how they gained not only artistic skills but also a sense of relaxation and inner joy through the sessions. Many of them conveyed their gratitude to the instructor for her patient guidance and encouragement throughout the course.
In his blessings address, the Director Swamiji beautifully highlighted that art is not merely a skill but also a form of meditation. He explained how engaging in creative practices like painting helps calm the mind, improves focus, and brings inner peace. He encouraged the participants to continue nurturing this art as a means of self-expression and spiritual enrichment.

Yoga Instructor Course 9th bactch Valedictory

We are delighted to share the successful completion of our 9th batch of the Yoga Instructor Course on 22nd March 2026, marking yet another milestone in our journey of spreading the science of yoga.

The batch commenced on 1st Oct 2025 and continued with dedicated training for a period of 4 months. Throughout this journey, participants were immersed in both the theoretical and practical aspects of yoga, building a strong foundation in yogic principles, teaching methodology, and holistic well-being.

The programme brought together 75 B.Sc Computer Science students from Guru Nanak College, offering them a meaningful platform for reflection, inspiration, and value-based learning.

Thanjavur Painting 45th Weekday Batch Valedictory

The valedictory function of the 45th batch of the Thanjavur Painting Course (Weekdays) was held on Friday, 6 March 2026, at the Vivekananda Cultural Centre (VCC). The programme marked the successful completion of the training and celebrated the dedication and creativity of the participants. ‌ During the session, the course instructor, Ms. Krishnaveni, appreciated the sincere efforts, dedication, and enthusiasm shown by the students throughout the duration of the course. She encouraged the participants to continue practising the art even after the completion of the training. She also reminded them that the conclusion of the course was not the end, but rather the beginning of their continued association with VCC and the larger Ramakrishna Math family as friends, well-wishers, and volunteers. Participants were encouraged to share their experience and spread awareness about the course among their family members and friends. ‌ Several participants

He explained that sincere dedication and perfection in art ultimately lead one closer to the Divine. ‌ Participation certificates were distributed to all the students in recognition of their successful completion of the course. The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 64 second-year students from the Banking Management departments of Guru Nanak College, Velachery, who gathered for a day dedicated to learning, reflection, and personal growth.
The workshop commenced with an invocation that created a calm and focused atmosphere for the sessions that followed. The main session was led by Shri Biju Dev Ji, Head of YoFi Yoga Centre, who has more than 25 years of experience in the field of yoga and value education. A visiting faculty member at several reputed institutions across the three southern states of India, he also regularly serves at VCC, where he trains aspiring yoga instructors.
In his session on *“Value Education and Yoga,”* Shri Biju Dev Ji shared practical insights on the importance of integrating moral values with yogic practices in daily life. Through engaging explanations and relatable examples, he encouraged the students to cultivate discipline, clarity of mind, and a balanced lifestyle. His interaction helped the participants understand how yoga can serve not only as a physical practice but also as a powerful tool for inner development and responsible living.
