Valedictory Function of the 4th Batch of the One Stroke Painting Course

The 4th batch of the One Stroke Painting Course conducted by Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, successfully concluded with a valedictory function on 16th October 2026. The course was held from 18th July to 4th October 2026, with sessions conducted every weekend. Under the expert guidance of Smt. Valli Solai S, five participants embarked on a creative journey, exploring the beauty, techniques, and expressive possibilities of One Stroke Painting.

During the valedictory function, Smt. Valli Solai shared her enriching experience of conducting the course and appreciated the participants for their dedication, enthusiasm, and artistic progress. She expressed her happiness at witnessing their growing confidence and the emergence of their individual styles and creative expressions. The participants shared their heartfelt experiences and expressed their satisfaction with the course. They highlighted how the sessions provided an engaging and inspiring learning environment, helping them enhance their artistic skills while experiencing relaxation, joy, and inner fulfilment. They also conveyed their sincere gratitude to the instructor for her patient guidance, personal attention, and continuous encouragement throughout the course.

In his blessings address, the Director Swamiji emphasised that art is not merely a skill to be acquired but also a form of meditation. He explained how engaging in creative activities such as painting can calm the mind, improve concentration, and foster inner peace. He encouraged the participants to continue nurturing their artistic talents and to regard art as a meaningful means of self-expression, mental well-being, and spiritual enrichment. In recognition of their dedication and successful participation, all five participants were awarded certificates of participation. The participants were familiarized with the Centre's mission of empowering youth through value-based education, character building, leadership development, and holistic personality enhancement inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

The first session, "swami Vivekananda’s style of leadership," was delivered by Smt. Ranjana. Through inspiring incidents from the life of Swami Vivekananda, she highlighted the essential qualities of an effective leader, including self-confidence, responsibility, discipline, empathy, courage, and the spirit of selfless service. One-Day Doll Decoration Workshop on Sri Rama


A one-day Doll Decoration Workshop was conducted on 27 September 2026 at the Vivekananda Cultural Centre, with four enthusiastic participants. The theme of the workshop was Sri Rama, and the session provided the participants with an opportunity to explore traditional Indian art and devotional aesthetics through creative doll decoration.


During the workshop, the participants learnt to transform a doll into a traditional representation of Lord Sri Rama. The decoration included dressing the doll in a traditional dhoti and angavastram, along with adorning it with jewellery and a traditional kreedam (crown). The divine form of Sri Rama was further enhanced with the traditional bow and arrow and paduka (sacred footwear), bringing together the various elements associated with the ideal and revered form of Lord Rama.


The participants took keen interest in every stage of the workshop and were very excited and enthusiastic throughout the session. The workshop also served as a means of appreciating India's rich heritage of traditional crafts while fostering devotion and creativity.


At the end of the workshop, a valedictory session was held on the same day. Certificates of participation were presented to all the students in recognition of their enthusiastic involvement and successful completion of the workshop.


The participants also had the opportunity to relish the sacred prasadam served for lunch, adding a spiritual and fulfilling dimension to the day's programme.


The workshop concluded on a joyful and devotional note, leaving the participants with a deeper appreciation of traditional Indian art, craftsmanship, and the beautiful form of Sri Rama.
